Star Island by Carl Hiaasen

Hiassen paints the picture of the ultimate self-absorbed fake musician, Cherry Pye, and the idiots who make their millions off of her fame by feeding her bad habits in order to mooch off the profits. Like all of Hiaasen’s stories, it wouldn’t be so funny if there wasn’t some truth to the stereotypes being exploited in this hilarious narrative. Perfect read for those who could use a laugh and appreciate witty cynicism at its best.
