Felicia Smith is a very creative librarian who has made the most of the many opportunities to take her ideas and run with them. Thank goodness for librarians such as her! In Cybrarian Extraordinaire, Smith shares her personal experiences of being a resident at the University of Notre Dame where she was immediately hired as a full time librarian upon completion of her residency. She developed engaging information literacy instructional sessions and for-credit classes which proved to wake students up and teach them valuable search skills to help them succeed in their academic pursuits. Smith proved she is willing to break the mold with everything from dressing like a pirate to creating a library in Second Life complete with a kitten. The book provides links for useful technological tools for use in the classroom and academic library setting. The book feels disjointed at times and would benefit if laid out in a how-to or process driven format as opposed to the almost journal style which it is written in.
